Streetwise Security Products warrants each new () unit for a lifetime-limited-warranty against defects in materials or workmanship with the following exceptions: The rechargeable batteries are warranted for 2 years from the date of purchase. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from accident, misuse or abuse, lack of reasonable care, moisture, the affixing of any attachment not provided with the product, loss of parts, or recharging the unit not according to the instructions listed in the manual (which comes with each unit). Tampering with and/or opening the unit, or the use of unauthorized replacement parts unless by an Authorized Dealer will void the warranty.

The Street Wise 5,000,000 volt is one of the highest voltages on the market today. Sometimes discharging this unit into the air is enough to discourage a would be attacker. The sound of the electric current passing between the probes and the bright light it causes will make just about anyone stop and think. If they do not stop, touching them with it for three to five seconds will cause loss of balance, muscle control, confusion and disorientation making them incapable of further aggressive action. There is no permanent harm, but recovery will take about five to ten minutes, giving you time to escape to safety.
